Due to unprecedented winter weather conditions, we have made the difficult decision to pivot. We will not be holding the plunge in person this year. This was not a decision made lightly, and we sincerely apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.

We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm, generosity, and support shown by our plungers, sponsors, and community. While we won’t be gathering at the beach this year, the impact of your participation is still very real. All funds raised directly support two vital causes: CAST, which provides food relief, education, and essential support services to North Fork and Shelter Island residents in need, and Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Program and its Back to the Bays Initiative, dedicated to restoring marine habitats and strengthening shellfish populations throughout the North Fork and Suffolk County. Your commitment helps make meaningful change possible.

Although this year’s Polar Bear Plunge won’t be held in person, you can still celebrate the tradition by picking up your plunge merchandise at CAST! Prizes will also be awarded to the top teams and individual fundraisers. Packages will be available for pickup at CAST, located at 53930 Main Road in Southold. Please visit Treiber Hall using the entrance off of the Main Road.

Merchandise and prize pickup dates and times are as follows:

• Wednesday, February 4: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM

• Thursday, February 5: 2:00–5:00 PM

• Saturday, February 7: 1:00–3:00 PM
