Learning Series on Art & Sustainability - All events are on Sundays from 1-3:30pm
- October 20: From Waste to Wonder - The Art & Impact of UpSculpt by Cindy Pease Roe: Local artist Cindy Pease Roe will discuss her work with UpSculpt whose goal is to empower action against the crisis of plastic pollution by engaging the public through an artist talk.
- October 27: Creative Conversation on Conservation - with artist Alex Ferrone - a Bilingual Event: Local photographer Alex Ferrone will discuss how her work relates to the environment and community members will read haiku poems inspired by her work.
- November 3: Regenerating Life - Partial screening and Q&A with director John Feldman led by North Fork Environmental Council: A one hour documentary film excerpt on sustainable agriculture and practices.
Youth Workshops
- October 1, 4pm: Garden Workshop with Yard Crop: Join Yard Crop's Kirsten Kesicki to collect seeds from CAST's Community Garden for a seed share.
- October 26, 4pm: Conservation Workshop with Peconic Land Trust: Our partner Peconic Land Trust hosts a youth workshop and activity on land and water conservation.
About The Center for Advocacy, Support & Transformation (CAST):
Since 1965, CAST has served vulnerable and low-income individuals and families on the North Fork of Long Island. CAST provides a critical safety net helping address food, housing, employment and healthcare insecurity with dignity and compassion. We serve a diverse population that includes children, older residents, people living with disabilities, single parents, veterans, the working poor, and people seeking employment.
