Office Assistance
We are always looking for friendly volunteers to help with general office duties including answering phones, accepting donations, filing, organizing, paper and computer work, and cleaning. Must be positive and welcoming. If interested, call the Client Support Specialist at 631-477-1717.
Food Pantry
Help us with food pick-ups, unloading, preparing pantry bags, breaking down/throwing out boxes, and organizing the Food Pantry. Contact the Food Pantry staff at 631-477-1717.
Sharing Room
We need help sorting daily donations and organizing and cleaning the Sharing Room.
Educators
CAST is always looking for engaging people to help us with our educational programs including tutoring, ESL classes, and Computer Training. Also, if you have a special talent or skill or area of expertise that would benefit our clients and would like to lead a workshop for our Engage, Educate & Empower series, please contact us at 631-477-1717 or info@castsoutholdtown.org.
Direct Mail Coordination
We do 4-5 mailings during the year and would appreciate help with the mailing process, including collating mailing contents and stuffing, sealing and labeling envelopes. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who want to assist CAST from home.
Development & Marketing
CAST is seeking individuals with development and/or marketing experience and who are passionate about our mission to help us with brand development, promotional materials, and development support. Contact the Executive Director at 631-477-1717.
Grant Writing
If you have grant writing experience, we can use your assistance applying for grants to help improve and expand our programs and services. Contact the Executive Director at 631-477-1717.
Food Drives
Help us collect non-perishable food and personal hygiene items at CAST Food Drives held at the four local grocery stores five times a year between May and October. Alternatively, you can coordinate your own Food Drive in your community, school or place of employment to benefit CAST. Contact the Food Pantry staff at 631-477-1717 for more information
Produce Rescue/Farm to Friend
For those with transportation, consider helping us pick-up produce donated by local farms on the North Fork. Contact our Food Pantry staff at 631-477-1717.
Seasonal Yard Work
Help us keep CAST clean, safe and beautiful! We can use help with raking, weeding, lawn mowing, snow removal, and yard clean-up.
School Supply Drive
In August, we need help collecting, organizing and distributing backpacks filled with school supplies for low-income students in preschool through high school.
Holiday Toy Drive
In December, we need help collecting, organizing and distributing toys, books and games to help make the holidays bright for struggling families on the North Fork.

CAST is a busy place! We have hundreds of visitors every week and various classes, workshops and events all year long. Check out what’s happening at CAST and how you can get involved. We rely on the generosity of the community to support our neighbors in need.
SPOTLIGHT
CAST’s safety net has a wide reach. We serve seniors, children, single mothers, veterans, the working poor, people living with disabilities, the homeless, and those needing emergency assistance because of an unexpected crisis. We also rely on many volunteers to better serve the community.
